Wanting to celebrate the courage and memory of those who have been touched by breast cancer, Denise Hurley came upon the idea of the stained glass quilt. Each panel is made by a different artist and dedicated to someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Her goal in creating the stained glass quilt is to present a visual statement on the need for continuing research into the causes and cure for breast cancer.
"I thought that by making the topic of the window flowers, it would convey the beauty and hope that flowers can represent. We have a saying in our business: 'Stained glass isn't expensive, it's priceless.' The hope we share with everyone who sees this window will last even when we are gone... and that is priceless." Stained glass artists and hobbyists all over the country are implemementing their own Flowers of Hope campaigns in partnerships with their local coalition for breast cancer research. We appreciate the following studios for honoring Denise's original vision: For more information about how you can participate in a Flowers of Hope stained glass quilt, contact Glass Addicts today.
